The 25 Highest-Paid MLB Infielders

  • The top seven highest-paid infielders play either third base or shortstop.
  • Only three infielders made the list who aren’t earning at least $20 million.
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Evidenced by their financial value, infielders, particularly third basemen and shortstops, are highly valued. Nine of the top ten highest-paid infielders are either shortstops or third basemen.

Anthony Rendon leads as the highest-paid infielder, earning an impressive $35 million annually. In 2019, Rendon signed a seven-year, $245 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels.

Trailing Rendon in the second spot is Francisco Lindor bringing in $34.1 million annually. Lindor’s ten-year, $341 million deal with the Mets in 2021 solidified his status as one of the league’s premier shortstops. Carlos Correa follows, with an annual salary of $33.33 million from his recent contract, a six-year, $200 million deal with the Minnesota Twins.

Nolan Arenado and Corey Seager share the fourth position, each bringing in $32.5 million per year. After signing long-term deals, Arenado is set to be a free agent again in 2028 while Seager will enter free agency in 2032.
