Pregnant on the Track: Alysia Montaño’s Bold Stand for Mothers in Sport

A seven-time U.S. champion in the 800 meters, an Olympian, and a World Championship medalist, Alysia Montaño has spent her career breaking barriers on and off the track. She made headlines — and history — when she ran a national championship race while eight months pregnant, challenging outdated perceptions of what motherhood in sport can look like. She’s a passionate advocate for maternal rights, the founder and CEO of the nonprofit &Mother, and a driving force behind the push for equitable treatment of athlete mothers in sponsorship and sport. She’s helping redefine what it means to be both an elite athlete and a mom.

Redefined is a Front Office Sports Network show that celebrates the stories, experiences and realities of multi-dimensional women in sports who are redefining success. New episodes release every Wednesday and can be found on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, and the FOS website.
