Steph Curry Is NBA’s Social Media King

  • Curry leads all NBA players in total video plays from the regular-season and playoffs.
  • He’s attracted 400M views this postseason — 47% more than Jayson Tatum (2nd-most).

The NBA has been dominating social and digital spaces, and the face of their content is none other than Warriors superstar Steph Curry.

Golden State’s official Instagram page picked up more than 1.2 million followers this postseason alone after Curry’s playoff content accounted for 231 million video views leading up to Game 3.

It’s the latest example of how the NBA continues to highlight and properly market its superstars on social platforms.

  • Since the beginning of the season, all Curry-related content has attracted a total of 1.4 billion views — double his runner-up (Ja Morant, 791M).
  • Since the beginning of the playoffs, Curry has generated 400M views — 47% more than Jayson Tatum (2nd).

It goes deeper: Curry is the most “favorited” player on the NBA App as of June 13, and his player page has received the most pageviews of any player this season (7.3M). The closest player after him? LeBron James at 6.9M.

Curry’s 43-point performance in Game 4 did particularly well, driving a total of 97 million views including Instagram reels — a 10% jump in content views from all other games in the series.

There are at least two games left in the Finals, so the NBA’s numbers will only climb further. And as the league continues its push in the social and digital space, the 34-year-old should only give them more memorable moments.

He is, after all, the leading scorer in the Finals.
