Gotham Sports Rolls Out Price Reductions to Streaming Packages

While price hikes in general entertainment streaming remain common, cost reductions in sports streaming continue.

A series of price reductions is making it cheaper for fans to stream several of New York’s pro sports teams.

Gotham Sports, the joint venture between the YES Network and MSG Networks, announced on Friday it is reducing prices for each of its core direct-to-consumer streaming packages. An annual price that includes access to both regional sports networks has been cut from $359.99 to $299.99, while the monthly price that had been $41.99 is now $34.99.

YES Network has also introduced a package designed to focus on the Yankees’ 2026 season that will be priced at $119.99. The monthly price for just that RSN has been dropped from $24.99 to $19.99, while the annual rate fell from a prior $239.99 to a promotional price of $174.99, before rising to $209.99 after April 15.

As has been the case, the Gotham Sports app will be available for authenticated TV subscribers at no additional cost.

The new rates, under development for several months, bring Gotham Sports more into alignment with many other RSN streaming services around the country. NESN, which serves the Boston area, costs $239.99 per year, while Marquee Sports Network in Chicago and Spectrum SportsNet+ in Los Angeles each cost $19.99 per month.

Additionally, the Yankees-specific pricing is largely similar to the streaming costs of the 15 clubs that are working with the MLB Media in-house program. That league-led effort recently saw a significant influx of clubs in the wake of the ongoing struggles of FanDuel Sports Network parent company Main Street Sports Group. The teams working in the MLB Media model are offering streaming subscriptions at $99.99 per club for the season, or $19.99 per month.

The Gotham Sports venture began in 2024, a move that expanded the partnership of the former business rivals.
