Recently retired New England Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty is joining NBC’s “Football Night in America” pregame show as an analyst for this upcoming NFL season.

McCourty retired in March after playing all 13 of his NFL seasons with the Patriots, finishing with two Pro Bowls and three Super Bowl rings. His new analyst job was announced Tuesday by NBC and was first reported by the New York Post.

Football Night in America is the No. 1-rated NFL pregame show and has been the most-watched weekly sports studio show for 17 years in a row. Last season’s Football Night broadcasts on NBC averaged 7.24 million viewers.

McCourty, 35, will join NBC’s Sunday Night broadcast team, including Maria Taylor, analysts Tony Dungy, Chris Simms, Jason Garrett, and insider Mike Florio. Football Night will air each week this NFL season on NBC and Peacock.

Devin is the second McCourty to enter the media business, as his twin brother Jason McCourty spent last season as a host for Good Morning Football on NFL Network. Jason also called Thursday Night Football games for Westwood One radio last season, the Post reports that Devin is expected to call some games for Westwood One as well.

Like Devin, Jason played 13 NFL seasons as a defensive back before he retired after the 2021 season. Last year as an active player, Devin worked as an analyst for NFL Today on CBS.

The McCourty twins are natives of Nyack, NY, and both attended Rutgers University. Both Devin and Jason are previous attendees of the NFL’s annual broadcast boot camp that the league hosts for current and former players interested in media careers.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
