In the SEC, it really does just mean more.

Saturday’s highly anticipated game between College Football Playoff No. 1 Tennessee and No. 3 Georgia now has the most expensive regular-season college football ticket on record, per online ticket marketplace TickPick.

The get-in price at Georgia’s Sanford Stadium is currently $626. Before the season, it was reportedly $197.

The most expensive tickets — a tie between two middle sections in the 100 level — are going for $5,233.

The rapid rise in prices is likely a reaction to Tennessee’s surprising domination this season: The Volunteers were not ranked in the preseason AP Top 25, but achieved No. 1 status in the first CFP rankings after big wins over conference rivals Florida, LSU, and Alabama.

The upset win over the Crimson Tide sparked a massive celebration in Knoxville that ended with the Neyland Stadium goalposts ending up in the Tennessee River. The university set up a fundraiser to help pay for new ones.

Now, the Vols head to Athens for their greatest test yet against the defending national champions — but it remains to be seen if their fans will be able to afford getting in.
