Topgolf and Dell Technologies Partner For Innovation and Fun

When sports and live events took a pause, many golfers found themselves without a way to engage in their favorite pastime and many organizations found themselves without a way to engage their customers. Thankfully for these groups, the World Golf Tour (WGT) online gaming platform by Topgolf presented a way to play through.

Quick thinking by the teams at Topgolf and Dell Technologies enabled them to create a custom virtual event series. Through the Tech Talk with Topgolf series, the two found a way to increase acquisition of net new customers as well as engage with Dell Technologies’ existing customers in the absence of traditional events. Topgolf and Dell Technologies have regularly partnered in the past to further innovate the game of golf and deepen the organization’s sports and entertainment community.

“Dell was excited to partner with WGT, taking a golf event we typically host at a Topgolf facility, and transforming that to a unique, virtual golf experience our customers have really enjoyed,” said Meribeth Golec,  Senior Advisor, Mid-Market Field Marketing for Dell Technologies.

The first Tech Talks with Topgolf series kicked off with a private tournament on the WGT platform for a select group of Dell Technologies’ customers followed by a presentation by a Topgolf Technology Executive. Presenters to date have included CTO Andrew Macaulay, VP of Technology Scott Lovejoy and Director of Digital Technology Scott Shultz. With the success of the first tech series, Dell Technologies signed on for a second four-part series of events that ran throughout the month of August.

The second series brought in leadership from the Topgolf Partnerships team to speak to the story of Topgolf as well as the brand’s evolution. The second series also featured representation from Dell Technologies that supports the Topgolf account. This series focused on the power of the partnership between the two brands and ways in which they continue to innovate through their collaboration.

“We love finding opportunities to grow our existing partnerships by creating virtual events,” said Rodney Ferrell, vice president of partnerships for Topgolf. “We value the relationship we’ve built with Dell over the past several years and look to continue creating unique and innovative solutions in this constantly changing market.”

With a shared vision to change the way people enjoy the game of golf, Topgolf and Dell Technologies are continuing to push the envelope at the nexus of sports, entertainment and technology.
