The Faces Behind Gen Y Digital!

This post is a part of our partnership with Generation Y Digital! Check them out on Twitter at @genydig!

Get to know Matt Creagan!

Matt Creagan, Social Media Coordinator with the Portland Timbers

Matt Creagan graduated from the University of Portland last May. He graduated working intern to part-time with the Portland Timbers and most recently has taken a full time position as the Social Media Coordinator with the Portland Timbers organization after he graduated. He creates and publishes content for the Portland Timbers, Portland Thorns and Timbers 2 across all social media platforms. Prior to working at Providence Park, Matt was an intern with Nike Digital. With this internship he learned how to work with a sports team as Nike has a partnership with the University of Portland basketball program in the West Coast Conference. Live tweeting games and creating content is an immediate way to jump in and learn.

So now that we knocked out the social media stuff, here’s a few things that you might not know about Matt. See below.

Matt digs music, so much in fact that he has a music minor and sometimes sings at weddings and other events. So if you need someone for an event in Portland, he’s your guy.

Some other quick facts, his favorite social platform is Twitter because it’s where you can get your news first. He also is interested in animals, and loves both cats and dogs. He’s hopped aboard the iPhone train and has made the switch to a mac as well.

Last fact about Matt, his social media pet peeve, that all social media professionals are interns. Because that’s simply not the case.

Get to know Stuart Drew!

Stuart Drew, Social Media Manager at Orlando City SC

Stuart graduated in the Class of 2015 at Auburn University where she was very active in athletics. She spent her senior year serving as the athletics department’s digital media intern working games in multiple sports. Upon graduation she landed the Social Media Manager at Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer. Stuart has since spent almost a year and half managing three teams and three platforms for the soccer club down in Orlando.

Want to know more about Stuart? Here are few quick facts about her.

Outside of work, Stuart loves spending time outdoors. For fun, she’s also been known to visit museums and parks in Orlando.

Twitter is her go-to platform because it’s real time and she gets all of her breaking news right there in one swoop.

In terms of a social media pet peeve, she dislikes that viewers and fans believe social media managers are interns, not cool.
